The ship "Roberto Aringhieri", jewel of the Coast Guard, makes a stop in Alghero, where it will remain moored at the "Dogana" quay until Thursday 24 February, open to citizenship visits from 10.30 to 12.30 and from 15.30 to 17.30 every day.
It is a unit, 34 meters long and launched last October, belonging to the new class "Angels of the Sea", dedicated to the memory of the personnel of the Corps who lost their lives in the fulfillment of their duty.
The Aringhieri is considered unsinkable: it is equipped with a "self-righting" system and an advanced command and control system capable of ensuring greater autonomy, high operational capabilities and better logistics for the recovery of any shipwrecked on board.
Built in aluminum alloy, it is powered by two engines each capable of developing 1790 kW fueled by diesel fuel coupled with two water jets. The maximum speed that can be reached is 31 knots, the range is 1000 miles at 28 knots.
This morning on board the ship the mayor of Alghero, Mario Conoci, accompanied by the Head of the Alghero Maritime District, Giuseppe Tomai, went on an institutional visit.
