Eight kilos of unidentifiable seeds and two kilos of fruit without health certification were seized at Alghero airport by officials of the Customs and Monopolies Agency of Sassari.

A passenger from Nigeria ran into the checks at the "Riviera del Corallo": in her luggage there were some bags containing seeds and African fruit (African Cherry) without labeling certifying species, certification and quality.

The seeds were subjected to precautionary administrative seizure , pending the hygienic-sanitary analyzes of the phytopathologist of the Agriculture and Agro-pastoral Reform Department of the Region. The risk is that they could be used for reproduction on local soils and it is possible that they could contaminate crops with harmful pathogens, while the fruit, in a poor state of conservation, could have caused damage to human health.
