Alcohol and drugs driving in the Nuorese area, a barrage of reports from the traffic police
The balance of the activities at the turn of August 15th
Ninety -four people were stopped , for normal checks, in the week of August by the police along the roads of the north-eastern coast of Sardinia connected to the tourist resorts, and among these 18 tested positive for alcohol test and 2 for drugs . Nine of the alcohol-positive people were also the recipients of criminal charges .
This is what emerges from the balance of the activities of the traffic police of Nuoro during the busiest week of the summer, which involved a total of 13 patrols.
The two people who tested positive for drugs and 60% of the positive for alcohol test are all citizens residing between Gallura and the province of Nuoro .
The controls, aimed at combating drugs and alcohol abuse, concerned the eastern Sardinian highway 125 , in particular the stretch between Budoni and San Teodoro , where the greatest number of nightclubs is concentrated.
Compared to the checks carried out in the same period of the summer of 2021, the traffic police of Nuoro, however, recorded a decrease in accidents .
"The intensity of the controls - announces the commander Leo Testa - will not decrease until the end of August and the activities will focus mainly on the state roads of the Province that connect to the tourist resorts: the Statale 131 dcn, the 389 Var Nuoro - Lanusei, the 125 'Orientale sarda' and the state road 129 that connects Nuoro to Macomer ".
