Wide-ranging investigations into the death of Pietro Mais, the retired Carabinieri officer originally from Villacidro who died in hospital in Olbia after a hunting accident in the countryside of Aglientu . The Tempio prosecutors have opened a case for the hypothesis of manslaughter against unknown persons , but the case, according to what has leaked from the judicial offices, does not only concern the dynamics of the accident that occurred yesterday afternoon.

The magistrates are dealing with the methods and timing of the rescue . Verifications are underway on the time that passed between the doctors' intervention in the countryside of Aglientu and the patient's admission to the hospital in Olbia. The military personnel of the Tempio Company, who intervened in Aglientu, were reportedly told that the helicopter carrying the injured man was headed to Sassari: another circumstance to be clarified.

The Tempio Prosecutor's Office has already received the first documents of the investigation, the reconstruction of the accident is underway. Pietro Mais was hit by a bullet in the abdomen, the buckshot penetrated the body and came out, damaging vital organs. A hunter, a hunting companion of the victim, who apparently accidentally hit Mais, has been identified : according to what has been learned, he admitted to having been at the point from which, according to investigators, the shot that killed Mais came after bouncing off a rock.
