Accident on the 554, involving a truck loaded with LPG cylinders, paralyzed traffic.

Another traffic accident this morning on State Road 554, heading towards Quartu, near the Is Corrias exit, has brought traffic to a standstill. It happened around 6:30 a.m., but two hours later, the road is still blocked, with cars moving at a crawl along the coast.

Two cars were involved in the accident, and according to initial reports, a truck carrying LPG cylinders. Anas workers and another truck arrived on the scene, where they are moving the LPG cylinders from the vehicle involved in the accident.

It's unclear at this time whether there were any injuries. The cause of the crash is also unclear, but a maneuver error hasn't been ruled out when exiting the Is Corrias neighborhood, where visibility is minimal and the exit leading directly onto the state highway has long been considered extremely dangerous by residents, who have repeatedly asked the City Council to intervene to secure the intersection.

However, the vehicles still remaining on the road are causing significant traffic delays, at a particularly critical time for morning traffic.
