Accident at the entrance of Porto Torres: two injured, an ambulance involved
In hospital a 46 year old and an 84 year old, both at the Santissima Annunziata
Tremendous impact at the traffic light, at the intersection between via Sassari and via dell'Erica, at the entrance to the city of Porto Torres. Three vehicles involved, including an ambulance. The toll is two injured, fortunately not in danger of life.
It happened shortly after 8 when an ambulance stopped at the stop in via dell'Erica was waiting to turn left towards Sassari. A Mercedes A-class arrived from the former 131 which while heading towards Porto Torres collided with a Hyundai Gets that was passing through via Sassari and came from the city center. In the phase of turning towards via dell'Erica the violent impact with the Mercedes carambulated then on the rescue vehicle.
On board the car a 46-year-old man, resident in Sorso, who suffered some injuries to the head and the rest of the body. Also injured was the driver of the Hyundai, an 84-year-old retiree who suffered a head injury. Both were accompanied to the Santissima Annunziata hospital.
On site three ambulances in addition to the one involved in the accident. Also present were the firefighters and agents of the local police of Porto Torres for the surveys and the regulation of traffic. At the dangerous intersection, work is underway for the construction of the roundabout, construction sites that are temporarily suspended.
