Classes are suspended starting today at the Terramaini campus of the Pietro Martini Technical and Economic Institute. Cagliari's mayor, Massimo Zedda, has signed an order temporarily closing the school until the cleanup work is completed.
For days, students had been complaining about the presence of rats and excrement on the school premises . This situation led to a student strike.
This is the third school to close in recent days, following Buccari and Ciusa . This brings the total number of schools in the city that have suspended classes for rodent control in the last three weeks to eight.
Meanwhile, protests continue at other schools in the capital. This morning, students from Scano went on strike again . Pertini is also on strike. Several high schools, including Michelangelo, are joining the strike and are gathering in front of the school on Via Vesalio.
