The young foreigner stabbed last night in Piazza San Michele, Cagliari, is being treated at Brotzu Hospital for observation. The man, who has not yet been identified because he is undocumented, is in serious but not life-threatening condition.

The incident occurred around 8:00 PM near the Miraculous Medal Church . According to what has emerged so far, the young man began arguing with some people in the square: he was drunk and apparently harassed some passersby.

The argument escalated, and someone stabbed him, wounding him in the back of the head. The young man fell to the ground, unconscious. A member of the Carabinieri was on the scene and helped him, then the 118 emergency team arrived and transported him to Brotzu Hospital.

The Carabinieri of the Cagliari branch are waiting to interview him to identify him, reconstruct the incident, and track down the perpetrator of the attack. Useful information will also come from CCTV footage in the area.
