A large branch collapses, danger averted in via Sassari: traffic at a standstill

A large branch collapsed on Via Sassari, in Alghero, late this afternoon. And it was pure chance that no one was injured in the fall, given that the street in question is one of the busiest in the city centre, with many clothing shops and pastry shops.

The branches buried a car and a motorbike parked on the side of the roadway closed to traffic to give Municipality workers the opportunity to clear the artery from the obstacle.

No one got hurt, but it could have been much worse. The flow of cars and motorbikes was diverted onto Via Mazzini with the help of the local police who rushed to direct the traffic.
