A day of overwork yesterday for the staff at Cres, the Sinis sea turtle recovery centre. They intervened in Gonnesa and Arborea for a caretta caretta and a stranded dolphin.

First in Gonnesa the Port Authority recovered a caretta caretta turtle in difficulty on the beach, handed it over to the staff of the Nora lagoon and then entrusted it to the Cres experts. The specimen was taken to the veterinary clinic for treatment, but unfortunately he didn't make it. The long stay in the cold outside the water and lung problems caused his death, the carcass will be analyzed at the zooprophylactic institute to ascertain the causes and check for the possible presence of plastic or foreign bodies.

Later, Cres staff intervened in Arborea, where a dolphin carcass was found, beached near road 18 and in an advanced state of decomposition. The causes of death are unknown, the dolphin was an adult and approximately two meters long.
