Traffic was severely slowed along the Asse Mediano in Cagliari due to an accident involving a car and a scooter heading towards Pirri, between the Genneruxi junction and Viale Marconi.

The man on the scooter, a 50-year-old man, was seriously injured in the crash. He was rescued by emergency medical personnel and taken to Brotzu Hospital for checks with a red code. The circumstances of the accident are unclear; the search for the driver involved is ongoing.

To allow for surveys and safety measures, one lane was temporarily closed. This inevitably resulted in significant traffic congestion along the entire arterial road.
