In 2025, Sardinia surpassed the 20 million tourist presences mark, reaching 21.8 million.

Regional Tourism Councilor Franco Cuccureddu announced the news at the BIT, currently underway at the Milan Rho exhibition center. "It's a historic achievement. It was supposed to be an end-of-term goal, but we managed to achieve it ahead of schedule."

Arrivals also performed well: 5 million. Specifically, there was a 15.60 increase in overnight stays and a 15.01 increase in arrivals. Germany is the leading foreign market, but the US market is growing at a 30% rate. Canada and Australia are also proving to be very interesting markets.

Foreign tourism takes the lion's share, accounting for 56% of all visitors, after years of essentially parity with Italian visitors.

The island is thus consolidating its appeal as an international destination. During the press conference at the Sardinia exhibition area, Cuccureddu also provided information on the steadily growing "low-season" tourism.
