It was June 18, 2022 when Giovanni Allevi announced the discovery of the disease on social media: a myeloma , "a neoplasm with a sweet sound , but no less insidious", which since then has kept him away from the scene, has bent his physique but not his desire to live and share the difficult moments with his fans, but also the joy of the small, great daily progress, up to the walk on the Navigli a few days ago.
Now the composer is ready to return to playing the piano live , in front of his audience: he will do it on the Ariston stage on Wednesday 7 February , as a special guest on the second evening of the Sanremo festival .
An excited Amadeus revealed it last night live on Tg1: «Tonight's announcement - said the artistic director - is something special, which goes beyond music and touches the chords of feeling , because he is a person whom I admire so much, who with his plan fascinated millions of fans in theaters all over the world, then an insidious illness forced him to leave the stage to face his toughest battle. A battle is not yet won, but I can announce that Giovanni Allevi will return to play on the Ariston stage on Wednesday 7 February ."
Connected to Tg1, wearing a black t-shirt and cap, the maestro greeted with a kiss the many people who followed his troubled journey with apprehension and warm affection , which he never stopped talking about on social media. «I am deeply grateful for this invitation to Sanremo . Who knows what a thrill it will be to play the piano in front of an audience again. I will also have the great responsibility of leaving you a reflection in the midst of a battle against the disease, which is not yet completely won. I will be the voice of the many warriors who face suffering, carrying a strong attachment to life deep in their hearts . Thanks Amadeus! See you in Sanremo!", concluded the musician.
Meanwhile, Sanremo 2024 is taking shape: the artistic director has also announced that tomorrow, Wednesday 29 November, he will reveal the co-hosts of the festival on Tg1 , on Sunday 3 December - in the 1.30pm edition - the complete list of the Big names competing and the next week, he promised, "there will be another surprise."
