«The center-right in Europe can only lead to a revolution if it is united, it is not a small Italian political controversy. The Italian government is not in question and will govern for the entire 5 years that the Italians voted for us. I work very well with Giorgia and Antonio and I am designing infrastructures that need years to progress. But to my friends of the centre-right I say: just as we are taking Italy by the hand to bring it back to growth, it would be a fatal mistake to divide the centre-right in Europe ."

Salvini also dusted off a passage from the Bible, that of David and Goliath: «Today – he said – Goliath is represented by bureaucrats and bankers, the first Eurosceptics.
