«We are all here for a new morning, which no one will give us but which we will have to take ourselves». With these words Renato Soru concluded the opening event of the Sardinian Coalition 's electoral campaign in view of the Regional elections on 25 February.
Location chosen for the event, Ula Tirso, on the shores of Lake Omodoeo , a few steps from the Santa Chiara dam, of which this year marks the centenary of its inauguration.

«Today – said Soru in his speech – we talk about governors and it is a word that we have become accustomed to hearing because governors are sent to the colonies and we have become accustomed to feeling like a colony. We must decide - he added, with a polemical reference to Alessandra Todde , candidate from Campo Largo - whether to elect a governor who will remain silent and change his mind at any time based on the conveniences and alliances made and broken by Giuseppe Conte . Or, as the Statute says, elect a president of the Region who represents the people who elected him and represents a community, a people, a land, who will not remain silent, who will defend the interests of Sardinia and its citizens."

«We came to this place – Soru said again – to inspire us and to attract those who are at home and are not interested in these elections. We are here because we need you to carry out enormous projects and transform Sardinia, opening a new path. Even if you didn't vote in the last elections, today we cannot remain indifferent, we are all involved, all personally, for us and for the people who will arrive."
