After a six-month long process, the 2023 Budget Law has become law. The green light in the Regional Council arrived this evening with 29 yes, 18 no. The Connect entered the Budget Committee on 23 February 2023 while it arrived in the Chamber on 21 June.

The law contains a series of long-awaited measures on urban planning, local authorities, transport and healthcare. On the first point, the provision implements the rules of the house plan not overturned by the Constitutional Court and which concern, in particular, the usability of attics and basements. Also in law is the possibility of making volumetric increases in existing hotels in the protected zone three hundred meters from the sea, and of building new five-star hotels outside the zone. The Connected also includes the rules for implementing the reform which brings the Provinces to six and the metropolitan cities to two.

For airlines, 25 million have been allocated over three years for the activation of new routes in the three airports on the island. Among the health provisions, there is a very important one which strengthens the powers of the eight local health authorities so as to better address the critical issues linked to the lack of personnel. In particular, the centralized function of Ares regarding competitions is linked to the definition of suffering indices for each local health authority.

Not only that: while waiting for the competitions, the companies themselves will be able to independently activate fixed-term selections to fill the vacant positions.
