Region, majority in the balance on new hospitals: showdown in the Council
The allies dispute Solinas and Doria's plan. From the opposition Moriconi and Agus are asking for the council's resolution to be revoked"A comparison is important, to avoid a tortuous end of the legislature with unpredictable consequences". This statement by the group leader of the Brothers of Italy in the regional council would be enough to make it clear that the majority that supports the governor Christian Solinas is hanging by a thread. Suture, perhaps.
Given that the rift between the junta and the allies in the classroom opened on the resolution for the construction of new hospitals, approved last June 1st. FdI then defends the line of its mayor of Cagliari, Paolo Truzzu, who defends the project for the new stadium in Sant'Elia, where the governor has said he wants to build the city hospital that should take the place of the Brotzu and dell'Oncologico, destined – at least according to the resolution – for future closure.
But that of Giorgia Meloni's party is not an isolated position. On the contrary: Forza Italia and the League also want the debate in the classroom (the statements are in the video) and also a piece of the Psd'Az, which spoke through Stefano Schirru. One way to say that there is no agreement. And the insistence could lead to a definitive tear.
The motions presented by the center-left ask for the immediate revocation of the resolution, one initially signed by Cesare Moriconi, regional councilor of the Democratic Party, and the other proposed by Francesco Agus, group leader of the Progressives, which will be discussed next Tuesday 27 June by the Chamber of the Regional Council.
The oppositions had initially requested an extraordinary session of the Assembly to discuss the issue, but this morning the group leaders decided to dedicate the first part of the session to health care, which has the examination of the Associate to the Budget on the agenda. Moriconi's motion identifies some inconsistencies in the steps that led the junta to adopt the latest resolution. "The list of interventions envisaged by the Regional Council with the resolution", reads the motion, "is independent of the planning of the investments referred to in the hospital network still in force, approved in October 2017".
