"Guarantee more effective access to reimbursements and advances for citizens who, finding themselves in the need to receive health services outside Sardinia, are forced to face significant expenses that would often be unsustainable".

The proposal is from the Pd regional councilor Roberto Deriu.

“The growing specialization of care, added to the depopulation of the inland areas of our island, favors the phenomenon of passive healthcare mobility, both inside and outside the region - explains Deriu -. I believe it is our duty to pay greater attention to those thousands of people who, every year, are forced to move from their territory to receive treatment that is not available in their province and, in 2% of cases, even unavailable in the entire region ”.
"Unfortunately - continues the councilor dem - the urgency, including economic ones, of those who leave Sardinia for health reasons does not correspond to the timing of the reimbursement and advances provided for by the law and its application".

Shortcomings and delays that would be filled by Deriu's proposed amendment to the law, the text of which is made up of 3 articles.
The first concerns an increase in the contribution that can be granted by the relevant healthcare unit, which would go from 70% to 100% of the amount , as well as a decrease in the timing of disbursement of advances and reimbursements, with the possibility of receiving a voucher obtainable within 72 hours from approval of the application.

In the second it is proposed that the applicant obtain the reimbursement of health and travel expenses, with the time necessary for the disbursement of the sums ranging from 60 to 15 days .

In the last article, the Region is expected to bear the costs of transporting the bodies, and not only to provide a contribution.
"With this bill we remove all obstacles and guarantee more effective healthcare mobility - concludes Roberto Deriu -, a fundamental step to allow treatment to all Sardinian citizens, even those forced to move outside the region to access more efficient ".
