The fourth edition of "Di mare e di stelle" (Of the Sea and Stars), an evening program dedicated to books, authors, current affairs, and performances, began on August 28th in Palau. The event, held in Piazza Popoli d'Europa and organized by the Municipality in collaboration with Apostrophe, will feature a presentation today, Saturday, August 30th, at 9:30 pm, of Franco De Masi's book "No Smartphone – How to Protect the Minds of Children and Adolescents" (Piemme, 2025). De Masi, a psychoanalyst, discusses the pros and cons of excessive cell phone use, particularly among children and adolescents, the risks these digital devices can have on their growth, their power over the psyche, and the reasons why the mind is so easily seduced. A guide for everyone—parents, educators, and young people—that helps better understand the risks of a world increasingly invasive of privacy, feelings, and education. Roberto Uzzau will lead the conversation. Carla Bassu, Full Professor of Comparative Public Law at the University of Sassari, will also participate.
