"Dear Union,
I am the mother of an 11-year-old girl with Sotos syndrome, a very rare disease.
I am a lucky mother because I accepted my daughter's illness, and thanks to her we live unforgettable moments every day.
However, there are parents who still suffer and believe that life is over!
I am writing to you because I would like to read words that give strength to some parents, to speak not only of the cons but also of the many pros.
I wish I could also give an example of my life, which has changed radically since she was born.
The family has been destroyed but she and I are reborn together, since she was born we have been making many trips, many excursions and many crazy adventures.
Things that, perhaps, with an able-bodied daughter I would never have done!
Next week we will go for a survival weekend in Supramonte, and with this experience I would like to make many mothers and parents understand that disability has no limits and that we must try to give them as many joys and life experiences as possible.
I would also like to give strength to the people who write to me in private telling me that they do not have the strength to face life, they are ashamed of their children's illness, they do not let them play sports because they are afraid of prejudice.
We could also list all the joys that our special children can give us.
Hope this is a good idea.
Thanks".
