Pancreatic cancer is one of the most serious and most feared oncological diseases due to its late diagnosis. In Italy, new cases increased from 13,700 in 2017 to 14,300 in 2020. The people most at risk are those in the age group between 50 and 80 years. In 2021 alone it caused the death of 6,300 men and 6,600 women .
Treatment mainly goes through chemotherapy, surgery and sometimes radiotherapy in local forms. Instead in the metastatic forms mainly chemotherapy.
The talk “15 minutes with…” is edited by Aou Cagliari News, the newspaper of the university hospital. An agile and simple format, it includes 15 minutes of discussions with specialists and the possibility for the public to ask questions live.
