Protection and enhancement of Sardinian cultural heritage: over 2 million works financed

Numerous interventions under the responsibility of the Cultural Heritage, Publishing and Information Service have been included in the programming of the Region with a forecast of two million and 255 thousand euros, of which two million and 155 thousand euros for the year 2021 and 100 thousand euros for 2022.

As underlined Andrea Biancareddu, councilor for Culture, the Region “promotes and coordinates projects for the enhancement of cultural heritage, the organization of related activities, the expansion of skills and competences for cultural use. Interventions related to cultural identity and knowledge of the vast heritage of Sardinia through an organic policy of cultural revitalization of the regional territory ".

To implement the redevelopment, conservation and restoration, the sites and the archaeological excavation will be made safe, spaces will also be created suitable for the provision of services for the use of the heritage, also with a view to "supporting the local economy for community, in terms of increased employment, induced and orientation, with consequent strengthening of the tourist-cultural offer ".

The contributions are intended for the conservative restoration interventions of the parish church of San Giorgio di Donori, the church of San Simplicio in Olbia, the maintenance of the church of San Pietro dei Pescatori in Cagliari, the church of San Pietro a Pirri, the safety of the parish of San Nicolò di Guspini, the Complex of Santa Caterina di Elmas, the refurbishment of the roof of the Convent of the Capuchin Friars of Sorso, the Convent of Sant'Antonio di Cagliari, the safety measures of the rural church of Birori, the Church of San Leonardo to Dualchi, to the conservative restoration of the Church of San Nicola in Orroli, to the maintenance of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lula, to the Immaculate Conception Parish of Stintino.

Furthermore, the implementation, digitization and classification of deeds of historical interest in the Historical Archive of Sassari, the digitization of the EGEA Ecomuseum of Fertilia, the maintenance of the Archaeological Park of Santa Cristina in Paulilatino and as a contribution to the archaeological excavations of the Nuragic site of S'Iscobalzu in Osidda.
