The Guardia di Finanza has acquired documents regarding the proposed merger of Sardinia's airports. In recent weeks, members of the Guardia di Finanza (Fiamme Gialle) have reportedly made several visits to regional offices and other public entities on the island—as authorized by the regional prosecutor's office of the Court of Auditors—to obtain copies of public documents regarding the privatization of the Cagliari-Elmas airport , managed by Sogaer, a company more than 94.45 percent owned by the Cagliari and Oristano Chamber of Commerce. This transfer will be made to the private fund F2i, which is already the majority shareholder in the Olbia and Alghero airports.

At this time, it's impossible to obtain official information on the nature of the investigation. Both the barracks on Viale Diaz in Cagliari, the headquarters of the Finance Police, and the nearby offices on Via Angius at the foot of Monte Urpinu, where the State Prosecutor's Office is located, remain tight-lipped .
