Extraordinary redundancy fund extended for another four months. A breath of fresh air for the workers of Portovesme srl after the stoppage of the zinc line decided before Christmas by Glencore.
Today there was a meeting with the Ministry of Labor, unions, company, Confindustria and the Department of Labor to ratify the agreement on social safety nets: extraordinary rotation of redundancy payments for workers until April 2025.
The RSU underlines however the need "to think about tools that look to the future in the different possible scenarios".
Remaining on Sulcis and the industrial theme, today the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso has convened the tables relating to the Eurallumina and Sider Alloys disputes. The meeting on Eurallumina will be held on January 20 at 3 pm at Palazzo Piacentini, while the table on Sider Alloys is scheduled for January 30 at 1 pm, again at the Mimit headquarters. Representatives of the Sardinia Region, the companies involved and the trade unions will participate in both meetings.
The two tables will follow the meeting already called by Minister Urso for January 17 with the Sardinia Region, in order to continue the necessary institutional discussion regarding the industrial dossiers of the area.
