Over one hundred thousand visitors to Cagliari's museums: a boom for Tutankhamun and the historical sites. In these first months of 2026, the city's museums have recorded over one hundred thousand visitors.

The highest number of visitors, over 70,000, especially young people and families, attended the Covered Promenade that hosted the Tutankhamun exhibition . These figures were published by Cagliari Mayor Massimo Zedda on his Facebook page.

The civic museums (the Municipal Art Gallery, the Town Hall, the Stefano Cardu Museum) with their permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, such as one dedicated to Antonio Ligabue , have attracted a large number of visitors. Among the current exhibitions is "Scores of Rust and Silk" by Wanda Nazzari at the Town Hall, which traces over fifty years of research by one of the most influential figures in contemporary Sardinian art.

The installations at the port by Japanese artist Kan Yasuda, the many initiatives in the Ghetto, the Lazzaretto, the Exma, the Teatro Massimo, the San Michele Castle, the Search and the former Vetreria complete the cultural, social and artistic offering of Cagliari.

"Regarding the amphitheater, we are starting work on the temporary path," the mayor announced. "Another piece of good news is the number of people who have visited the Crypt of Santa Restituta: 28,000 . Between the hypogeum, the amphitheater, and the Viper's Cave, we are approaching 40,000 visitors."

A new development for the city is the inauguration and public opening tonight, Thursday, October 8th, at 6:30 PM, of the Comics Museum in the Library complex on Via Falzarego. Mus-Cà, the Sardinian Comics Museum, commissioned by the city administration, is created by the Hybris – International Comics Center association, directed by Bepi Vigna.
