Oristano: The "Voices of the Giudicato d'Arborea" choral festival returns to the city.

The thousand-year-old tradition of Sardinian singing meets the highest expressions of polyphonic and international choral music.
Everything is ready for the ninth edition of the choral festival "Voci del Giudicato d'Arborea", organized by the cultural association "Eleonora d'Arborea" of Oristano, led by president Rimedia Sanna together with the entire board of directors and the choir members.
This year's event will enjoy an exceptional setting: the festival will be held in the evocative Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta on Friday, October 2nd at 7:00 PM. Maestro Antonello Manca will be the artistic director. The evening will offer audiences an emotional journey through the diverse nuances of vocal music, thanks to four artists of extraordinary artistic depth. The Tenores de Neoneli, a true pillar of Sardinia's intangible cultural heritage, will perform. The group has brought canto a tenore to the world, performing on stages throughout Europe, the Americas, and Oceania. Known for their ability to engage with modernity—boasting collaborations with artists such as Elio e le Storie Tese, Francesco Guccini, Roberto Vecchioni, Ligabue, and Angelo Branduardi—they will bring the powerful identity of their successful works and projects to the stage.
The Eleonora d'Arborea ethnic polyphonic choir from Oristano will then perform. Founded in 2015 and directed by Maestro Antonello Manca, the choir masters a distinctive 432 Hz tuning that enhances its harmonic expression. Recipient of prestigious awards, the choir also boasts significant international recognition, cemented by its 2017 London concerts. Next on stage will be the "Sos Cantores de sa Turre" choir from Orosei. Founded in 2009 and led by Maestro Sandro Pisanu since 2023, the group combines sacred and secular songs from the Orosei tradition. Finally, the "Della Virgola" choir from Pescara, founded in 2003 and directed by Maestro Pasquale Veleno, will perform. The choir boasts a distinguished background, combining a cappella polyphony with major symphonic-choral productions. Winner of first prizes in major national competitions and a leading performer at major festivals in Italy, Scotland, Spain, and Poland, he regularly collaborates with prestigious orchestras. As the organizers promise, it will be an unmissable event for lovers of great music, culture, and the island's historical roots, combining the spirituality of its host with the evocative power of its voices.
