Oristano director Mirko Zaru wins at the Bloody Festival with “Metamorfosi dell'essere”

A crime thriller set entirely in Sardinia hits the mark at the Bloody Festival Roma VI, a festival dedicated to horror, mystery and thriller films. “Metamorfosi dell'essere” by Oristano director Mirko Zaru won the award for Best Mystery Film.
Released in theaters at the end of May, it was filmed mainly in Norbello and surrounding areas. The story: in the countryside of the town of Guilcer, several femicides of young women are at the center of the investigation by Anna Carreras (played by Maria Chiara Piras). Inspector of the Violent Crime Analysis Unit, Carreras carries out the investigations with the novice inspector, Fiorenzo Vargas (Gabriele Muscas). The cast is completed by Aiste Dunderyte, Fabrizio Tuveri, Marco Urru, Christian Loddo and Fausto Atzei. The soundtrack is by Antonello Manca from Oristano.
The award was presented by the Festival's godmother Manuela Arcuri who hosted the evening, together with the film critic Francesco Lomuscio. Federico Zampaglione was also awarded for "The Well" as best horror.
“Metamorfosi dell'essere” is the second work by director Mirko Zaru and will soon be distributed on the national and international market, as well as his first work “Vien di notte”, a thriller/horror released two years ago. A few months ago Zaru this year, Zaru was awarded at the BLIA “Three acts of goodness” in Los Angeles with “Lo graffio”, a social short film from 2019, starring a then very young Andrea Arru.
