The live action experiment arriving on Netflix of "One Piece" arouses many curiosities and expectations, inspired by the Japanese manga by the master Eiichiro Oda which narrates the exciting adventures of the most original pirate crew, led by Monkey D. Luffy - also known as "the rubber pirate" - in search of the most precious treasure of Gol D Roger.

Having long since become the best-selling comic series in Japan, as well as the most popular since Akira Toriyama's "Dragonball", this adaptation has aroused - among the enthusiasm of most - also a large dose of perplexity, mainly derived from fear that the flesh-and-blood counterparts of the iconic characters might not work the same way as the paper version or the anime series. But making use of a ten-year experience, as well as the unfailing care he has always placed in supervising his projects, Oda promises with this latest effort to leave his mark even among the most suspicious.

And following the latest trailer released by Netflix in recent days, the mangaka has recently expressed himself with a deeply felt message directed to readers. According to Oda in fact - between those who praise hope and those who instead skepticism - there would be no reason to warm up to the gossip that is wasted about the project. Based mainly on the commitment and dedication placed in making the series - with a clear attention to detail and the desire to keep the spirit of the original work intact - Oda shared the following on his official Instagram profile:

“Here we are ready with the live action of One Piece! The teaser and trailer are already out and the show is scheduled to launch on August 31st. I tell you, there was no compromise in making this TV series! And the celebrations have already begun, it's fun to see people's reactions when the various information is released. And it's absurd that the idea of adapting One Piece to a live action was conceived 7 years ago! How was it possible to transpose such a world into reality? It took a lot of work… the efforts of the actors, the reconstruction of buildings and costumes, realizing the situations so that they could only work in live action, the dialogues… and the commitment of so many people who worked together was already in itself something beautiful. After the launch I am sure that some will point the finger at that character that is missing, or that scene that was omitted, or the differences from the manga. But I'm sure these criticisms will come from those who have love for One Piece, so I'll enjoy comments like these too! The story will last eight episodes, and it will lead us you know where!”

Below we also report the official synopsis from Netflix: “Based on the best-selling manga series ever in Japan, ONE PIECE is a legendary sea adventure like no other. Monkey D. Luffy is a young adventurer who has always dreamed of a life of freedom. Luffy sets out from his small village to embark on a perilous journey in search of a legendary treasure, the ONE PIECE, to become the King of the Pirates. But, to find it, Luffy will have to reunite the crew he's always wanted and find a ship to sail on, scouring every inch of the vast seas, escaping Marines, and outsmarting dangerous rivals at every opportunity"

With the interpreters Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero and Taz Skylar, as well as many others who will play the roles of the bizarre characters, One Piece is now preparing to find space in our living rooms. Will he be able to make even the most fundamentalist fans change his mind?
