Zé Maria is the new coach of Olbia. The 51-year-old Brazilian coach, born José Marcelo Ferreira, former defender (among other teams) of Inter, Parma and Perugia, takes over from the resigning Lucas Gatti.
The Gallura club announced this in a note issued today, at lunchtime . «The club has decided to entrust the leadership of the first team to José Marcelo Ferreira. Born in 1973, known as Zé Maria, in Italy he played with Parma, Perugia and Inter, and began his career on the bench in 2010 leading Città di Castello in Serie D», it reads.
«Among his experiences, after a brief adventure at Catanzaro, one in Kenya with Gor Mahia, one in Albania with Tirana, one in Romania with Ceahlaul Piatra Neamț and one in the Brazilian second division with Portuguesa. In 2022 – we read in the official press release from Olbia Calcio – he gained experience as a technical collaborator of the Parma youth sector. Zé Maria will make his debut on the Gallura bench on Sunday at the “Nespoli” in the derby with Costa Orientale Sarda on the 12th day of Serie D.
