Having archived the success against Arezzo, first after a long lack of victories, points and goals, Olbia returns to training today in view of the difficult away match on Sunday at the Carrarese field, fourth strength in Group B.
From the bottom of penultimate place, with 20 points, the road to salvation is still long for the whites, as is the season since there are 15 matchdays left at the end of the Serie C championship. The new coach Marco Gaburro knows this well, and did not fail to remind the team of it before and after the match against Arezzo, decided by the goal of Daniele Dessena, who came off with cramps after a man of the match performance.
Meanwhile, a few hours after the closing of the winter transfer window, Olbia would have targeted two Swiss players, like the new ownership of SwissPro: the central midfielder Stefano Guidotti and the left back adaptable to the entire defence, Mikael Facchinetti.
Having concluded his experience with San Gallo and the Super League, Guidotti, born in 1999, comes from a long period of inactivity following a season conditioned by physical problems. Similar situation for Facchinetti, a free agent, 33 years old in mid-February and a parenthesis in the Chievo Verona Primavera in 2012, who with the Lugano shirt in the 2022/23 Super League championship suffered a rupture of the cruciate ligament in his right knee in a tackle of the game, ending up on the margins of his club's project.
The two players, who share their past in Lugano, would sign with Olbia until June.
