Obsessed with her image on the outside, just like Donald. Obsessed and furious about Donald's escapades. And locked in the tower of the castle in the "Rapunzel" version, as the agents of the secret services called it.

It is an extreme synthesis of the portrait of Melania Trump that emerges from the previews of the book by Stephanie Grisham, former spokesperson for the White House and the former first lady herself. The title is “I'll take your questions now”, the phrase with which Melania addressed journalists during the briefings.

A story of those who lived for years next to the presidential family and in particular to Melania. Who, according to Grisham, despite showing a "false detachment" in public, was literally obsessed with her public image.

She read all the articles that talked about her and did it in a maniacal way, she had a Google alert that reported in real time all the contents on the network in which she was mentioned.

The lack of interest in her husband was also false, she was jealous and furious at Donald's escapades that ended up in the press, from the one with the Playboy bunny Karen MacDougal to the one with the pornstar Stormy Daniels.

The various public images in which she shows almost contempt for her husband and forbids him to take her hand are a reaction to these episodes: “She wanted to make him feel embarrassed,” explains the author of the Libero. "I don't want to end up like Hillary Clinton," Melania confessed to her spokesperson, referring to former President Bill's well-known relationship with Monica Lewinsky.

Another feature that emerges from the book is Melania's life in isolation, who was "detached from the world". “She hardly ever went to her personal office at the White House - says Grisham -, she preferred to work remotely from her home, even before the pandemic”.

For this reason the 007 Usa called her Rapunzel, like the protagonist of the tale of the Brothers Grimm locked up in the highest tower of the castle.
