All that was missing was the official announcement. It's here: Guido Angelozzi is the new sporting director of Cagliari Calcio, with a contract until June 30, 2027.

Born in Catania on 5 February 1955, Angelozzi boasts a long experience in the world of football: after finishing his career as a footballer, at the beginning of the 1990s he immediately began his career as a manager, first as Sporting Director of Atletico Leonzio, in C2, then at Fidelis Andria, where he remained for six seasons, five of which in B.

After experiences with Reggiana, Catania, Sambenedettese and Perugia, in 2005 he arrived at Lecce, with whom in the 2007/08 season he won promotion to Serie A thanks to the victory in the playoffs. In 2010 he was at Bari: in the 2013/14 B championship the team was among the revelations of the tournament and came within a whisker of the playoff final for the top division.

In the summer of 2014 he moved to Spezia where he again reached the playoffs, stopping in the quarterfinals . The following year he moved to Sassuolo, in Serie A, taking on the role of Director of the Technical Area. In his first year of management, the Neroverdi reached a historic milestone: sixth place in the standings, achieved with 61 points, which was worth the qualification for the preliminary rounds of the Europa League, a result achieved for the first time by the Emilian Club. The following season the team obtained entry to the group stage of the European competition, in which it made its debut on 15 September 2016 with the historic home victory against Atletico Bilbao (3-0). In the championship, Sassuolo was the architect of a comfortable salvation, as was the following season, ending in 11th place.

In the summer of 2018 he returned to Spezia as General Manager, with the task of directing and coordinating the Company and the team from a technical and sporting perspective. After laying the foundations, in his second season he obtained a historic promotion to Serie A for the Club, which reached the top flight for the first time.

In October 2020 he moved to Frosinone where he took on the role of director of the Technical Area. Here he began a new cycle in which the promotion to Serie A in the 2022/23 season shines, obtained with the victory of the cadet championship.

Expertise, a solid and accurate knowledge of football, combined with managerial skills and the ability to spot talent.

“Welcome to the red and blues, Director,” is the message from the club. Tomorrow, President Tommaso Giulini will hold a wide-ranging press conference on the future of the team and more.
