«This time too our region remains without representation in Europe . We tried, nominating an extraordinary woman, Cinzia Pilo, who narrowly failed to do so. Among the many battles to be carried out with determination, there is no shortage of that to be able to change this electoral system which penalizes Sardinia, taking away the possibility of having adequate representation in Europe, where many of the decisions that concern us closely are made".

Thus the governor of Sardinia Alessandra Todde, in a post on Facebook where she analyzes the result of the electoral weekend for the European and municipal elections.

In his analysis Todde, in addition to welcoming with satisfaction the victory of Campo Largo in Cagliari, Sassari and Alghero ("In Sardinia there is a different air, our model is winning and Italy is once again looking towards us"), he focuses the spotlight on the failure to elect Sardinian candidates to the European Parliament, making a commitment to work to change the system which at the moment - in the Islands constituency - favors Sicily to the detriment of Sardinia.

«It is necessary – says Todde – to change the rules of the European vote as soon as possible, in order to allow regions such as Sardinia to be adequately represented».
