While at Boston University, he was awarded the NABC Honors Court, a recognition given by the American Basketball Coaches Association to college basketball players who combine excellent athletic performance with excellent academic results. Nicolò Nobili, a 6-foot-10 power forward, is 24 years old but is only in his second season in Italy after his youth career at Virtus Bologna. "Going to the US alone made me independent on and off the court. Basketball and studying were the two pillars on which I built my college life."

The Dinamo big man explains the differences with basketball overseas: "American basketball is different, much more athletic and individualistic, but it has helped me improve my individual skills and work on my physique, whereas here in Italy it's almost the opposite. Last year in Bergamo I immediately noticed the big difference, tactics here are 90% of the time, and I like to understand and study them."

Nobili is pleased with his inclusion in the Sassari team: "It's been two excellent weeks of work. We've started playing together and we have a high basketball IQ. We're already passing the ball well, and I see great chemistry off the court, too."
