It will be an evening of great music on Friday, August 1st at 9:00 pm , when the enchanting setting of the UNESCO Su Nuraxi nuraghe in Barumini will host the Choir of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari conducted by Maestro Giovanni Andreoli . The concert, evocatively titled "From Vienna to Broadway," represents the third event of the Barumini Music & Heritage Festival, the event that unites music, culture, and the island's ancient heritage.

Audiences will be taken on a musical journey, beginning with the elegant atmospheres of Belle Époque Austria, amidst Viennese harmonies and refined melodies, and culminating in the captivating rhythms of the most celebrated American film soundtracks of all time. This program will enchant both classical music lovers and those seeking a captivating experience in a unique setting.

Maestro Giovanni Andreoli and a Choir of Excellence. Leading the Choir of the Lirico di Cagliari will be Maestro Giovanni Andreoli, one of the most esteemed musicians on the international scene. His career has seen him hold prestigious positions: Chorus Master at the Fenice in Venice , artistic director of the Teatro Grande in Brescia (1994-2005), Chorus Master at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa (2001-2004), Chorus Master at the Fondazione Arena di Verona (2010-2011), and Titular Chorus Master at the Teatro São Carlos in Lisbon until 2020.

A festival that unites culture, institutions, and the local area . The concert is part of the Barumini Music & Heritage Festival , organized by the Barumini Sistema Cultura Foundation and the Association of Local Authorities for Cultural and Entertainment Activities , with the contribution of the Regional Directorate of Museums of Sardinia and the collaboration of the Cagliari Lirico Theater Foundation.

The festival was created with the aim of promoting the region and narrating its story through art , building a bridge between past and present. The events thus become opportunities for institutions, artists, and talents from all disciplines to engage in dialogue, focusing on high-quality offerings that appeal to both tourists and local audiences.

An experience between art and history . Participating in the festival means enjoying an experience that goes beyond music. The Su Nuraxi nuragic complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most recognized symbols of the Nuragic civilization and Sardinia's millennia-old history. Listening to the music of the Coro del Lirico as the sun sets over the site's ancient stones will be an experience you'll never forget.
