“The Seventh International Renal Meeting with Mayo Clinic in Sardinia”: this is the theme of an international conference scheduled in Cagliari, with nephrology experts arriving from all over the world.
In the institutional context of the council chamber of the Municipality, tomorrow at 5:30 pm the inauguration, will celebrate fifteen years of constant and continuous collaboration between the Complex Structure of Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplant and the experts of the Mayo Clinic of Rochester (MN, United States). «A unique collaboration in Italy», we read in a press release, «which testifies to the high level of comparison between the scientific activities of the Nephrology Dialysis and Transplant of the University and Arnas Brotzu of Cagliari and the experts of the main global reality in the field of Nephrology». The mayor of Cagliari Massimo Zedda will award some foreign and Italian scientists an award for their multi-year contribution to the realization of this event and to the collaborative research and care activity.
On May 30 and 31 and Sunday June 1, at Sa Manifattura, «many of the most important world specialists will participate in the seventh edition of the International Renal Meeting with Mayo Clinic in Sardina». Event organized by Professor Antonello Pani , director of the Complex Structure of Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplant of Arnas Brotzu, as well as director of the School of Specialization in Nephrology of the University of Cagliari, together with Professor Gianfranca Cabiddu , Professor Dario Roccatello (director of the Rare Disease Research Center of Turin) and Professor Fernando Fervenza (Mayo Clinic Institute of Rochester).
" The conference aims to be an opportunity to discuss and study in Sardinia various nephrology topics that have recently been debated during the main international conferences . The topics covered", we read in a press release, "regard the main clinical issues of the renal patient such as glomerulonephritis, chronic kidney disease with the most recent therapeutic innovations that tend to slow down the evolution towards dialysis; the genetics of chronic kidney disease, a topic that is changing the way of approaching care not only for kidney patients; the most recent purification techniques in the field of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, the main problems related to kidney transplantation".
Professors from the most important national and foreign universities and hospitals will present their contributions to approximately 300 participants, including many specialists from various Italian nephrology schools, as well as students from the Faculty of Medicine of Cagliari.
