There is no peace for Rafa Nadal . The Spanish tennis player, who has just returned to the ATP circuit after a year's hiatus, is forced to miss the Australian Open , his first Slam of the season.

The champion announced the withdrawal with a post on Instagram in which he explains that in the last match of the Brisbane tournament he suffered "a micro tear to a muscle" , but "not in the same part where I had the injury and this is a good news".

«At this moment – wrote Nadal – I am not ready to compete at the highest level in best-of-5 sets matches . So I will return to Spain to see my doctor, get treatment and rest."

The goal, Nadal clarified, "is to reach my best level in 3 months." The hunt for the fifteenth Roland Garros is therefore more open than ever .
