Meloni-Von der Leyen meeting: Italy confirms its commitment to the PnrrEconomy and migration at the center of the face-to-face between the premier and the number one of the EU Commission
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni confirmed Italy's commitment to the Pnrr during the meeting in Rome with the president of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
According to reports from Palazzo Chigi, Meloni and von der Leyen condemned the assault by the Bolsonarists on the Brazilian Parliament and also had an "exchange of views" on other economic issues and on the issue of migration, in preparation for the extraordinary European Council of 9 -February 10th.
In her visit to the capital, the number one of the EU Commission also recalled David Sassoli , former president of the European Parliament who died on 11 January 2022: «David - she said - was a great speaker and also a great politician, who was passionate about politics and not by power. He was a kind and courageous man, wise and daring, he was called by some 'the good president'. When he greeted me he used to say in French 'bon courage'. Here I want to say the same, today, that everyone in the EU has his courage, the courage to fight for our values".
