From her role as a showgirl to her relationship with Matteo Berrettini, and her current relationship with Carlo Gussalli Beretta, Melissa Satta opens up as a guest on Giulia Salemi's podcast "I Don't Do It for Fashion."

The Sardinian showgirl—father of Buddusò, mother originally from Arzachena— started out in her career, specifically hosting various sports programs, an environment where she faced a lot of prejudice simply because she was a woman : "From a professional standpoint, in some fields, we're perceived as inferior; I've worked a lot in sports, and the first thing I was told was, 'She doesn't understand anything, she can't do anything.' You have to prove you're good. I have a tough personality, and if there's any prejudice, I'll show my strength."

Then the years she spent on "Striscia la Notizia": "I had a lot of fun. Before, there was only TV, few places, today TV is watched much less, working on social media is easier." Those were the years when many girls wanted to be a showgirl: "Being a showgirl has a busy day," she recalls. "Ricci would make you do dance classes, hours in the rehearsal room, telepromotions, there were rules to follow, you were effectively an employee; the influencer manages herself, chooses what to do and post, and gains instant popularity, some girls have built empires."

About the program's closure, "I was very sad, I was fond of it, but I understand that the world and communication have moved on. Maybe they should have found a way to modernize it, but it would no longer have been 'Striscia'."

Then there's love. Satta recounts the beginning of her relationship with Brescian entrepreneur Carlo Gussalli Beretta, whom she met on Instagram . "It makes me feel good. It wasn't love at first sight. We met on Instagram, he messaged me, and the fact that we were both born in America (Melissa Satta was born in Boston because of her parents' jobs, ed.) sparked a conversation. The relationship I'm having with him came at a happy time in my life. I have a good job and a wonderful son." Her son, Maddox, from her marriage to Boateng, "knows everything. It happened once that he found out about my private life from outside, and it wasn't nice."

Regarding her relationship with tennis player Matteo Berrettini: "It's not a media affair. We try to keep it to ourselves. I'm a public figure, and obviously things get out. But back then, things were different. He was a sportsman in the spotlight. Now, they take pictures of us every now and then, but it's not like before. Even though there'll always be some idiot at the keyboard who has to make stupid comments."
