«Soon I will start studying the dossiers on wind and photovoltaic energy in Sardinia» . This was stated by the Undersecretary for Culture Vittorio Sgarbi , in an interview with Corriere del Sera, where he took stock of the "battles" to be waged to protect the landscape .
The challenge against maxi-wind farms is a challenge that the art critic has been pursuing for some time. And it is a battle that many of the island's mayors are also waging.
Back in government, Sgarbi announced his intention to put a stop to it, not only in Sardinian territory, but throughout the peninsula.
As he himself explained: «I am thinking of the Salento landscape, especially in the province of Lecce. One of the most affected and disfigured by wind power and other forms of energy production. The beauty of places like Santa Maria di Leuca or Ostuni cannot be defaced. In Puglia there are 1,700 wind turbines, against 9 in Piedmont. Not only Lecce: I also want to study the area around Brindisi well. I'm thinking of Molise, in the stretch from Sepino to Pietrabbondante». Finally, the undersecretary mentions Sardinia, where he announced that he now wants to concentrate his battle.
"I would like this government to intervene immediately, as a priority" , said Sgarbi, speaking first of the areas damaged by natural events, such as Ischia, and then of those where the "beauty" of the landscape and the environment is most threatened.
