"Welcome, love of our life." Thus, on social media, Martina Barella and Alessandro Vinciguerra announced the birth of Gabriele, the couple's son, born this morning at 9:09 a.m. at the Santissima Trinità hospital in Cagliari.

Martina Barella works as a makeup artist and is the sister of Nicolò, a midfielder for Inter Milan and the Italian national team, while Alessandro Vinciguerra recently retired from Cagliari, his contract expiring on June 30. The striker, originally from Naples but now Sardinian by adoption, said goodbye to the Rossoblu fans just last week at the end of his tenure with president Giulini's club, where he won the Coppa Italia Primavera (with Fabio Pisacane as coach) in the final against AC Milan, which was broken by his goal.

"Today our family was born. Thank you for being the partner I've always wanted," Martina Barella wrote in the post alongside a photo of herself with her baby and the new father.
