After the rumors and half-admissions, now there is also the official statement: Marko Rog and Cagliari do not leave and, indeed, double, with a contract that will expire no longer in 2024, but in 2026.

The Croatian midfielder, as well as his friend and teammate Pavoletti previously, agreed to spread the salary he would have received in the next two seasons out of four years. A way to confirm his bond with the rossoblù club, which waited for him for almost two years, after the double break of the crusader, which made him miss half of the 2020-21 season and a good part of the last championship.

Rog, who in the previous weeks had been sought by Salernitana and above all Sampdoria, will therefore remain in the rossoblù, hoping to make himself available to Liverani as soon as possible and give his contribution for the return to A.

After the renewal until 2026, Marko Rog has entrusted his thoughts to the official channels of Cagliari. "I am happy for the renewal, there is a good team and together we will try to bring Cagliari back to where they deserve to be". Rog admits contacts with other clubs: “It's true, there was some chance in Serie A, but I felt like I was staying for everything I've been through, I feel indebted.
