Mani Pulite, Di Pietro: "Thirty years later nothing has changed"

Antonio Di Pietro writes it in the thirtieth anniversary of Mani Pulite, whose origin coincides with the arrest of Mario Chiesa on February 17, 1992.

The former prosecutor also goes back to those years. “They wanted to stop us,” he writes. “They took action as soon as they realized that we were about to reach the upper echelons of power. “Since then - he continues - the only thing that has changed is that now there is desolation on the part of public opinion. From the end of the First Republic, new ideas and people should have emerged to carry them forward. Instead, from that investigation a great void was born and characters who remained on the political scene appeared more for themselves than for anything else. I am thinking of Berlusconi, Bossi, Salvini, Renzi ”.

He claims the work of the magistrates Di Pietro: “We did what a radiologist did when you go for x-rays to see if you have a disease, we discovered that our country was sick with endemic corruption. Are the thieves, the corrupt, the tax evaders and the mafia a shame or who, like me, discovered them with the Mani Pulite investigation? ".
