But the current president has always rejected the hypothesis, put forward by many, of his encore
The 5 Star Movement wants the reconfirmation of the current President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.
The assembly of M5S senators met today to update themselves on the now imminent match for the Quirinale. Almost unanimously the pentastellati expressed themselves to press for a reconfirmation at Colle di Mattarella. And to think that only three years ago Luigi Di Maio asked for his impeachment for the Savona case.
The news was given by sources from the Movement itself. During the meeting called by the parent company Mariolina Castellone, the "party" that pushes to ask Mattarella to make a new mandate expressed itself "by a very large majority".
Mattarella, for his part, has always rejected the hypothesis of an encore, which would be the second in republican history. The first is precisely that of his predecessor Giorgio Napolitano, reconfirmed in 2013 but resigned after two years, putting an early end to his second term, to date a unicuum in the history of the Italian Republic.
