"I want to try a new challenge in a new league. And if that were to happen, I would be very happy and satisfied, because it would mean I've done my job to the best of my ability," Rafael Leao said in an interview with Portuguese Sport.tv, published late yesterday evening on social media.

"I think I gave Milan everything I could give. It was a club that helped me grow a lot, that supported me in difficult times. I'm happy to have been able to write my name in the club's history," he added, publicly closing his time with Milan.

Leao's contract expires on June 30, 2027. "The most important thing now is the World Cup and helping the national team however I can. When the time comes, I will evaluate the best options to continue my career and compete at the highest level of European football," he concludes.
