A delegation from the Asd Torres responded to the appeal for blood donation launched in recent days by the Aou di Sassari transfusion center.
This morning the president of the football club, Stefano Udassi, the coach Alfonso Greco, the sports director Andrea Colombino, the team manager Lello Mela and the players Luis Mukaj and Paolo Dametto showed up on the second floor of the Palazzo Rosa for the withdrawals.
"Donating blood is almost a duty, a moral duty that we feel we can fulfill with the utmost willingness and enthusiasm," Udassi said. "The staff, some of the guys from our Torres and myself are here to give a signal that can be an example: anyone can do this little gesture by making a huge contribution. Maybe saving a life. Donate, if you can".
The gesture was an opportunity to relaunch the appeal to donate at a time when the lack of blood is becoming worrying: "The appeal to donate blood is an appeal that remains valid all year round. Patient needs and surgeries, in fact, never go on vacation and in this period of health emergency they have become even more pressing ", said Pietro Manca, director of the Aou Immunotransfusion Center of Sassari. "The more than ten thousand bags that are collected a year in the Sassarese are still far from the objectives of self-sufficiency. This is why we trust in the generosity of all".
