A worker was electrocuted this morning, around 9.30 am, in a Terna construction site in Vicenza.

His condition is very serious, he received a high voltage discharge while with some colleagues he was working on the electricity line in the western area of the Venetian city.

The workers of the Terna company have been working for about a week to dismantle and move a high-voltage line near the site of the "Bretella dell'Albera". Works that will also lead to the closure of the ring road section over the weekend.

The 118 staff, the Vicenza firefighters, the Police and Spisal staff, the accident and disease prevention service at work are on site.

According to what was reconstructed by the fire brigade, the worker was intent on assembling a pylon when the structure approached the overlying medium voltage cables, and thus an electric arc was created.

The man was immediately rescued by his colleagues who raised the alarm. On arrival, the 118 health workers stabilized him and took him to the hospital in red code.
