Luciana Ronchi died at the Niguarda hospital where she arrived this morning in very serious conditions, after being stabbed by her ex-husband .

The 62-year-old woman, who had a deep wound to her jugular vein and others to her chest and abdomen, had been operated on by the trauma center team but her condition immediately appeared very serious.

The woman was found on the street, near the entrance to a house . Local police officers immediately launched a search for her ex-husband. The man, Luigi Morcaldi, 62, was found that afternoon, hours later, and arrested. He was in Parco Nord .

Morcaldi made a mistake during his escape: he briefly turned his phone back on after having turned it off . This allowed local police officers to locate and arrest him. They also found and seized the knife in a trash can on Via Grassini.

Morcaldi had been waiting for his ex-wife outside her house ; lately, he had often lingered in front of the red building on Via Grassini. He had been keeping an eye on her in recent weeks, so much so that some neighbors had even insulted him for his insistence on asking what his ex-wife was doing.

Luciana, formerly a cleaner and now a soup kitchen worker, had found a new partner after separating from her husband, who was her age, with whom, neighbors say, she was living a quiet life. Morcaldi, with whom she had a son and had been separated for three years, approached her on his Beverly scooter and, without even removing his helmet, attacked her , shouting phrases like "the house is mine," with a knife in her jugular vein, then in her abdomen and chest.

Local police officers, led by Gianluca Mirabelli, were the first to intervene and try to help her, while emergency responders from 118 arrived. According to what has been reconstructed, the separation from her ex-husband had a financial impact (it seems they had even run a bar together).
