Tragedy struck Milan overnight. A 29-year-old woman was found dead in her home on Via Iglesias, in the Gorla neighborhood. A 52-year-old man is believed to have killed her, and is now hospitalized in serious condition at Niguarda Hospital after attempting to take his own life . The crime occurred late yesterday evening. Neighbors raised the alarm, calling 112 after hearing screams coming from the apartment at number 33.

Police patrol cars and paramedics from 118 responded to the scene, but nothing could be done for the woman. The police are now working to reconstruct what happened. Forensic scientists are conducting tests inside the apartment. The magistrate on duty was also on site to coordinate police activity. Investigators are working to understand what happened in the home and reconstruct the events of the tragedy.

According to initial reports , the victim and the 52-year-old, both Italian, were having an affair . Witnesses reported hearing the woman call for help from the terrace. The man stabbed her several times, then turned the same weapon on himself, injuring his throat.
