To go on holiday, he abandoned his elderly, invalid and non-self-sufficient mother, who died of starvation .
The episode occurred in Montelibretti (Rome) and the woman, a 49-year-old Italian, was arrested for aggravated voluntary homicide by the Carabinieri of the Monterotondo company, who today notified the order ordering her precautionary custody in prison.
The facts date back to June and the woman was placed under house arrest while waiting to define her situation more clearly. The investigators found some notes referring to the purchase of a ticket and some objects necessary to disguise his identity, things which suggested that he was planning an escape. Hence the custody in prison .
The lifeless body of the elderly woman was found in the house, it immediately emerged that the daughter who looked after her had gone away to spend a holiday in Abruzzo, leaving her alone and without care.
